Physical Education (PE)
We aim to ensure that all children take part in and enjoy appropriate sporting activities, both as part of the curriculum provision and in the many after school clubs that are provided.
We encourage the children to both compete with themselves and each other and to co-operate as part of a team. Our annual sports day has a traditional, competitive nature together with a series of activities that all children can enjoy.
In addition to regular lessons held at school, the children visit Faversham gym and a local swimming pool for sessions with specialist teachers. Voluntary contributions are asked for to help meet the cost of these activities.
We also offer professional sports specialists as part of our curriculum. We use Dribble and Kick to support our in school provision and Andy Booker can often be seen outside with our children practicing a variety of skills.
We have endeavoured to teach a wider variety of sports using our Sports Funding, to ensure the children have a rich curriculum. Previously we have funded such activities as fencing and dancing to steel drums and lunchtime coaching.
We offer a wide range of after-school sporting activities weekly multi sports, maypole and participate in many local competitions.
PE Skills progression (Please note we don't go swimming with every year group etc or complete all sports with every year group, but we can assess the children as to which year group they are operating at. So you could have a Year 3 child who hasn't done much swimming outside school, operating initially at a Year 1 level)
