The School Day at Lynsted

Children may be dropped at school from 8.40am where they will go straight into class.

The staff on the gate will happily pass on any messages that you might have for your child's class teacher.

The gate shuts at 8.50am. Children arriving after this time must sign in at the school office, and will be registered as late until 9.15am. when we close the registers.  Arrivals after 9.15am will be recorded as an unauthorised absence.   If possible please ring ahead if you know you are going to be late.

Morning break is from 10.30-10.45am

Lunch break is from 12 noon to 1pm

Afternoon registration is at 1pm

School finishes at 3.15pm for all children. Please come onto the playground and wait in your child's class area.

If your child is ill, please contact the school office on the first day and every day thereafter until they are back at school, by phone, email or using Parentmail.    When they return to school please also send a note explaining why they have been absent.  School Telephone number is 01795 521362, or email office@lynsted-norton.kent.sch.uk

Please try and arrange for any appointments to be made after school. However we realise that this isn't always possible. In this case, please make sure that the school office is aware of any appointments your child is attending; evidence of appointments will be required.

LUNCHTIMES

Lunchtimes are split into 2 sittings. We always have members of staff alongside the Principals staff to ensure good behaviour in the hall.

Ducklings and Butterflies  have lunch in the hall on the first sitting from 12 - 12.30pm  They are then able to go out onto the field to play until 1pm.

The hall is then wiped down before the second sitting.

Hedgehogs and Foxes play on the field from 12-12.30pm and then have their lunch in the hall on the second sitting from 12.30 - 1.00pm

ILLNESS - This is the same as above - please contact the school office should  your child be unwell.  A telephone call (01795 521362), message left on parentmail or email (office@lynsted-norton.kent.sch.uk) to let us know why your child is not in school.

If your child has covid symptoms (temperature, new continuous cough or lost their taste or sense of smell) you will be asked to isolate and obtain a test and must get a negative result which we must see before your child can come back to school.  If they get a positive result they must stay home and isolate for 10 days.

If someone in your household has symptoms then everyone in your household must isolate.  That person must obtain a test.  If it is negative your child may return to school.  If it is positive then the whole household must continue isolating for 14 days.
