Safeguarding
As a school, we actively follow all National and Local guidelines in regard to the safe recruitment of staff, child protection and online safety. Keeping children safe is a priority for the whole school community. If you have any concerns regarding a pupil's wellbeing, please contact school and ask to speak to a Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. We have yearly updates, which are re-visited throughout the year to ensure we remain vigilant. Although we are a small school, we have key staff members who lead on both child protection and online safety.
If you have any safeguarding (Child Protection) concerns, you can contact a member of our Safeguarding Team during school hours using the contact details below.
Designated Safeguarding Lead Miss Georgina Ingram
Deputy Safeguarding Leads Mrs Catherine Wickham
Mrs Emma Greenwood
Mrs Vicky Smith
Trust Safeguarding Lead and DPO Mrs Sarah Baker
Trust Attendance Manager Mrs Amanda Adcock
The role of a DSL is to ensure that our pupils are safe both in and outside of school. If you have any worries or concerns about a situation that your child, or any other, is facing, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please record your concern, and any observations or conversation heard, and report to one of the DSLs as soon as possible. We will take you seriously.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that s/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to one of the DSLs in confidence, (or the Chair of Governors if the concern relates to the Headteacher) who will consider what action to take.
