Enrichment
In addition to our exciting and stimulating curriculum, we also provide further opportunities to enhance children’s learning wherever possible. We offer a range of different enrichment activities and events in order to ensure we are equipping our children with the knowledge and cultural capital to succeed in life. In addition, enrichment activities and events are in place to further develop the provision of spiritual, moral, social and cultural education as well as the promotion of British Values and the understanding of protected characteristics. These include:
These clubs broaden the offer of the National Curriculum and allow children to develop skills in other areas, both within and after the school day. Children have let us know which clubs they would like to have offered and staff do their best to meet these requests! Some of these support the core curriculum offer, as well as those that develop specific skills such as gardening or cooking.
At the end of each term we hold specialist curriculum weeks in order that children have greater opportunities for focused learning and develop skills. This includes Art Week and Maths challenge week amongst others. Other themed days are also part of the school’s calendar, for example Anti-Bullying Week, Comic Relief, World Book Day, NSPCC awareness, black history month. Parents are invited in to share these as much as possible.
